The under 21 European championship has started, and it features many future stars. Here is a list of the top 10 youngsters playing in the Euro 21 this summer.
1, Daniel Sturridge, 21, England
Comment: Made twelve appearances for Bolton this year. In them, he scored eight goals.
2, Christian Eriksen, 19, Denmark
Comment: Eriksen is Denmark’s future. He played for a national team in World Cup last year and is now among the youngest in the squad, but clearly the most worth seeing.
3, Juan Mata, 23, Spain
Position: Midfielder / striker
Comment: A fully developed player. Raised in Real Madrid and is now as good as a striker as he is a midfielder, which guarantees him a starting place in Valencia.
4, Xherdan Shaqiri, 19, Switzerland
Comment: Irrational and difficult to defend against.
5, Phil Jones, 19, England
Club: Blackburn (on his way to Man United)
Comment: Alex Ferguson coughed up 160 million for him. A leader on the pitch which is expected of him, mantles John Terry’s role in the national team in the future.
6, Jaroslav Raktiski, 21, Ukraine
Comment: Expected to be the fixed star as Dimitri Tjigrinski never became.
7,Anderson Herrera, 21, Spain
Club: Athletic Bilbao
Comment: Not as aggressive as Mata, but are useful over larger areas.
8, Gylfi Sigurdsson, 21, Iceland
Comment: Could this be Juninhos heir as the king of set pieces?
9, Pavel Nyakhaychyk, 20, Belarus
Club: Bate Borisov
Comment: Has played in the Champions League and is expected to have a bright future in soccer.
10, Vaclav Kadlec, 19, Czech Republic
Club: Sparta Prague
Comment: Reliable scorer who will give Sparta Prague a nice lump sum of cash when he transfers club.
